Finale Forecast: How will ‘Empire’ season 2 (and all of its madness) end?

While “Empire” season 1 was about getting to know some of these characters, it feels like season 2 has been more about watching these people bare their souls, figure out who they are, and then also in the end who they really want to be. At times, it’s been a tricky journey for them, and we do hope that eventually they do figure out how to find a little bit of peace.

There are a few episodes left this season, so will they find it? That, coupled with many other things, is something we’re getting set to spotlight in this latest edition of our Finale Forecast series.

What could happen – Now that we’ve learned the truth about Lucious’ mother actually still being alive, this is something that he is going to have to contend with the world either finding out about, or him doing something to suppress it. We imagine that this will make for one of the most emotional moments for the character yet, as so much of his identity is informed by what he went through with her.

Meanwhile, we anticipate that this season Hakeem’s personal life will have further trials and tribulations, Jamal will continue to be on the rise, and Rhonda will finally learn the truth about what happened to her. also, there’ll probably be a huge cliffhanger for the third season. We cannot imagine that Fox show really having it any other way.

What should happen – First, let’s talk Rhonda. We all assume that it was Anika who pushed her, so why not have it be someone else? What if the heel was a red herring? It’s certainly something worthy of consideration. Also, let’s get her and Andre on the same page, since they are one of the few couples on this show we’re 100% behind.

We’d also like to see Hakeem fall hard in the final few episodes, mostly because he’s made so many reckless mistakes that the guy has to learn from. We do think that his heart is in the right place  sometimes, but he has to channel that better. The same goes for Cookie, who has to know that being back in Lucious’ orbit is not good news for her. It’ll only end badly, and she has to be prepared for that. We want to see some consequences for that this season.
