CBS renews ‘The Talk,’ ‘The Bold and the Beautiful,’ and more
CBS has continued to shore up their daytime lineup for the upcoming fall season, and with that, we’re happy to report that some other favorites are officially coming back. The network confirmed today that they have renewed “The Talk,” “Let’s Make a Deal,” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” for additional seasons, which means that they are officially joining the already-renewed “The Price Is Right” and “The Young and the Restless.”
In a statement, the network’s executive vice president of daytime programs Angelica McDaniel was of course happy to celebrate the return of some of these shows:
“Each year, CBS Daytime produces more than 1,000 episodes of programming — the most for any broadcast network — which is only possible due to the incredible passion of the industry’s best creative talent, both in front of and behind the camera … Our loyal audience has made CBS Daytime the No. 1 daily destination for millions of viewers, and we thank them for contributing to this phenomenal success. Next year will be even bigger and bolder!”
There is one thing that is definitely worth pointing out at this point when it comes to some of CBS’ daytime lineup. If you look at some other networks that are out there, one of the common threads with them is upheaval. Just look at NBC and “Today,” or what is going on with ABC with “Live with Kelly and Michael.” This is without even bringing up NBC’s late-night mess from a few years back.
When it comes to their daytime programming, CBS is as steady as a rock, and have had very few controversies across the board. You can make arguments about some frustrating decisions in primetime, but not so much here.
