‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3, episode 18 review: Fitz, Simmons’ big moment; Hive’s manipulation
We already knew that Hive on Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” had a knack for mind control, and having people unleash storms of physical fury. Take, for example, what we ended up seeing from a super-possessed Daisy Johnson on this past episode of the show.
On Tuesday night’s new episode of the drama, what we ended up seeing was Hive resort more to emotional manipulation to undermine and destroy parts of SHIELD, including the blossoming relationship between Fitz and Simmons. He brought back the memory of Will, which complicated Jemma’s head before she was able to snap out of it. Hive was shot multiple times, but given what we’ve seen from this guy in the past few weeks, he’ll emerge from that okay.
At least for the FitzSimmons ‘shippers, you can rejoice for a minute or two the fact that these two seem ready to finally admit there is something going on between the two of them. Granted, there’ll still be arguments, and we don’t think even them sleeping together will change the show much. It’s just a nice moment for us.
The show “proper” ended with this romantic moment, but this is “SHIELD.” You have to know that there’s still something after the “we’ll return in a moment.” Tonight, that was Hive announcing that he is going to try to recreate the Kree experiments done to him, which should help shape out some of the plans that he has had done to him? Sound chilling? It does to us, and it’s a nice way to wrap up the episode. Grade: B+.

MAOS SINGULARITY RATED AS 2.00 STARS OUT OF 5.00. AWFUL.
HYDRA, GONE? JUST LIKE THAT? MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL………..
RED SKULL COULSON STRIKES AGAIN!! Just when you thought MAOS couldn’t get any worse, the writers lower the bar even further. This show is pure garbage to this point, as NAZI RED SKULL COULSON decides that he will strap a BOMB to Lincoln’s chest so he can save Daisy. And May, with a rare opportunity to show that she might have an ounce of humanity in her and could possibly be redeemed, didn’t stand her ground and say to Red Skull Coulson no that will not happen. And to make matters even worse, Coulson used her to hold the detonator because he was too much of a gutless coward to do his own dirty work, as May belatedly pointed out. MAOS is filled with racist overtones as you have a white male led power structure that treats Inhumans (minority group) as third class citizens. Since when did Coulson ever consider strapping a bomb to May, Fitz, Mack or Simmons? Ah, like never. And forcing a stupid half baked love scene with two down syndrome adults (Fitz and Simmons) was the worse way to end a show. And since when did Gideon Malick have time to give the entire HYDRA membership before getting killed? Just the writers tying up loose ends. GOOD POINTS: Daisy nearly killing Fitz. Wish she had actually done it. May getting her butt kicked again, That’s two weeks running, Surprised the writers have allowed this. But good to see. Coulson is no leader, he could care less about anyone but himself, and May is simply gone. Her mind is smoked and she cannot be redeemed Fitz, Simmons Mack are all useless, as that lame attempt at a James Bond type operation clearly proved. And the Inhumans that they treat as third class citizens who slave for shield, like Lincoln, Elena, and Joey, should all have the sense to ditch Shield, tell Red Skull Coulson he can go screw himself, and start their lives anew on their own. In the final analysis, Shield is a broken, rag-tag grouping of mass killers, NAZIS, and supremacists who, if society thinks these mass murdering psychos are “HEROES” then God help us all………………
