‘Person of Interest’ season 5 spoilers: Show boss on Shaw’s return
The wait for the “Person of Interest” season 5 premiere has certainly been a long one, but come Tuesday, May 3, you will finally get a chance to see the fruits of the cast and crew’s labor as the show is in its home stretch. There are only a handful of episodes still to air until the series finale, and with that, we’ll get a chance to see what the world looks like after this lengthy saga of the Machine. Who knows? Maybe it keeps going.
Either way, we have a tease below from executive producer Greg Plageman that has us excited for many different aspects of the show to air, with one of the biggest ones being simply the return of Sarah Shahi as Shaw. She’s not going to be in every episode, but she’ll be a huge part of the endgame.
Specifically, Plageman recently said the following to TVInsider:
“This character we’ve missed so terribly finally returns, but is she still the same Shaw? Shaw’s been through quite the ringer. Root is caught somewhere between elation and trepidation; Shaw is damaged goods. The rest of Team Machine definitely has more trust issues when it comes to Shaw 2.0 than Root: in Root’s eyes, it’s still Shaw. But is she really? [They’re] trying to sort out where Shaw’s head is at. Whether or not she’s been brainwashed or reprogrammed in some way. And where her allegiance now lies.”
Hopefully, Root, Finch, and Reese figure this out before the end of the season. Otherwise, it’s easy for see this entire series ending in a ball of flames.
