‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12: Ellem Pompeo on show success without Patrick Dempsey
One of the biggest changes people are still talking about is the sudden exit of Patrick Dempsey last year as Derek was killed off. This is something that Ellen Pompeo discusses further in an interview on “Ellen” today (see below), where she praises the show while also explaining that in some ways, flux does help the show continue to be successful:
“I think a lot of people were really upset about his departure, which is super understandable … But I think the change is part of the reason why the show goes on so long. I think they get so upset about the change, but change is precisely what everyone always needs to sort of get to the next place.”
“Grey’s Anatomy” is a show where many of the original cast members have eventually moved on. Just note that Sandra Oh is also now gone, and of course there were some other original cast members who left long ago.
