‘Legends of Tomorrow’ spoilers; The Vandal Savage saga may be one-season event

This season of “Legends of Tomorrow,” we’ve certainly seen quite a few ups and downs … and all of them have really been in order to satisfy one particular endgame: The story of Vandal Savage. This is a villain who we’ve seen in different timelines, and he’s also someone with a personal connection to Kendra Saunders and some other characters.

While we assumed that this was going to be a one-season villain, we have even more confirmation now that this is the way the story is going. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg had the following to say:

“It’s probably unsurprising to hear that they will have to go to the ends of time itself to take down Vandal Savage … It’s been a year-long journey for the audience and for the team. We’ve posited him as the worst big bad that any of these shows have come up with. It’s going to take all of them and maybe a sacrifice here or there to be able to stop him.”

If season 1 is the end for Savage, we hope that season 2 could work to introduce someone really new into the equation, and someone who could be terrifying in their own right and not necessarily someone who requires time-travel in their own right. We’d be fine with less time-travel on a weekly basis, provided that it gave us a greater attachment to a particular period than what we have here.
