Ratings: ‘The Odd Couple,’ ‘Mom,’ ‘Rush Hour’ rise; ‘Bones’ season 11, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ fall
Last night was a pretty good night to be CBS. All of their shows other than “The Big Bang Theory” improved by a nice margin, and even it at least stayed steady at around a 3.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic. It’s been a while since we had a Thursday night to really rejoice about with them, so we’re happy to get into talking about them further.
The good news – There was a nice gain this week for “Mom,” which rose up this week to a 1.8 rating in the key 18-49 demographic. Meanwhile, “The Odd Couple” (1.7) also improved, and while we think that “Rush Hour” (1.0) may be facing a tough battle still on its road to renewal, it did win its timeslot for the night over “The Catch” (0.9) and “Game of Silence” (0.7). Of course, you can argue that this is a pretty darn weak primetime no matter how you slice it.
The bad news – This was not nearly as good of a night for ABC, given that “Grey’s Anatomy” (2.0) and “Scandal” (1.5) each fell by a decent margin versus their most-recent episode, and “Bones” over on Fox also fell further to a (0.8). We also feel sad for “American Grit” (0.7), a decent idea for a reality series that is at present struggling mostly just because the genre is not in a great place right now.
Over on The CW, “Legends of Tomorrow” (0.7) and “The 100” (0.4) didn’t change much; while this isn’t terrible news, we do have to recall that these shows have been prone to a little bit of adjustment here or there as of late.
