‘The Real World: Go Big or Go Home’ not airing tonight due to Prince’s death

For those of you who are looking for more coverage of tonight’s new episode of “The Real World: Go Big or Go Home,” we come bearing some news: There is no new episode airing on MTV tonight.

What’s the reason for that? It’s simply a quick scheduling move to accommodate the terrible news regarding the passing of Prince at the age of 57. If there was ever a reason to preempt a show, this is clearly it. There will clearly be more time in the future for us to sit around and discuss some of the storylines that play out here, including Chris making an emotional move regarding his history in the Mormon faith.

Tonight, we suggest going to watch a few Prince music videos, seeing “Purple Rain,” or maybe even just doing a little bit of reading up so that you can understand the earth-shattering impact that this man had on the lives of so many people out there. There are few artists out there whose death would spark a reaction anywhere close to what we’re seeing across the internet right now, from people all over the world.

“The Real World” will return next week, so you don’t have to worry about going too long without it. Maybe the show will just push everything back for a week, or we’ll get some sort of double-episode down the road. Either way, you better believe that we will be back with some further coverage at some point in the near future.
