HBO offers ‘Game of Thrones’ season 6, ‘Silicon Valley’ season 3 premieres during free preview weekend

LogoHBO is really trying to make the most of this weekend, and that includes setting record ratings for many of their shows. How do we know that? Well, it has a little something to do with offering a free preview this weekend for those of you who want to check out some of what they have to offer.

Basically, this preview starts on Friday, and there are a wide array of big events you can expect to see. For example, Saturday marks the HBO premiere of “Jurassic World,” now known as one of the biggest movies in recent history. Were it not for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” we imagine that it would be even more at the forefront of our mind.

Also, on Saturday you’re getting the chance to see what in the world Beyonce’s “Lemonade” is really all about. There’s a ton of hype about the project (Beyonce has a great relationship with the network), but it’s not exactly clear precisely what this is.

Of course, we don’t even have to tell you what is coming up on Sunday. This marks the return of “Game of Thrones,” “Silicon Valley,” and “Veep” to the air, plus a new episode of “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.” It’s somewhat ironic that the network has been so hush-hush on “Game of Thrones” when it comes to early screeners, but they are actually giving away their premiere for people to watch it live. This is why we interpret this move as them wanting to set some sort of viewership record, and we don’t blame them for that in the slightest.
