‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ season 4: Premiere date speculation and more for Fox comedy
Love “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”? We certainly understand, given that this is a show that does tend to cram a ton of humor into every half-hour. Therefore, it’s rather unfortunate that it is also one of the most under-appreciated comedies out there, and it has become even more of an under-the-radar show since it switched over to a different timeslot at midseason.
Luckily, the good news is that Fox clearly does still have a lot of faith in the future of the show, given that they renewed it some time ago for its fourth season. We would say that next to maybe “New Girl,” this is their most-important comedy on TV, and now that it is getting closer to syndication, who knows? Maybe it will reap some benefits there if it lasts long enough.
The good news is that we don’t foresee this show going anywhere for a little while, largely because it has a marquee star in Andy Samberg, plenty of police hijinks, and is the sort of show that can survive in almost any timeslot. Even if you move it around here or there, there is a pretty good shot that it will be able to still emerge without too much of a problem.
As to a specific premiere date, we’ll probably figure that out over the next few months. Superficially, our hope is that Fox will move the show back to Sundays, where it seemed perfectly stable as a part of that comedy lineup.
