ABC sets ‘Mistresses’ season 4, ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ season 3, other premiere dates

It could happen -

Curious about when your favorite ABC summer show is going to return? We’ve already shared the news that “The Bachelorette” is going to be back with new episodes starting on Monday, May 23, and we’re pleased now to have the remainder of the dates from ABC.

Now here that all times listed below are Eastern; adjust according for your local time zone. One thing that we’ll note here is that if many of these shows appear to be starting earlier than usual, there’s a reason for it: With the Olympics coming this summer to NBC, there may be repeats elsewhere to avoid competition.

Thursday, May 26

8:00 – “500 Questions” (two hours)

Monday, May 30

10:00 – “Mistresses.” Isn’t it nice that the show is back where it belongs, timeslot-wise?

Tuesday, June 14

8:00 – “To Tell The Truth” (sneak peek)

9:00 – “Uncle Buck” (new comedy)

9:30 – “Uncle Buck”

10:00 – “To Tell the Truth” (timeslot premiere)

Thursday, June 23

8:00 – “BattleBots” (two hours)

Sunday, June 26

8:00 – “Celebrity Family Feud”

9:00 – “The $100,000 Pyramid” (new series)

Tuesday, August 2

8:00 – “Bachelor in Paradise” (two hours)

Monday, August 8

8:00 – “Bachelor in Paradise” (time period premiere)

Tuesday, August 9

8:00 – “Bachelor in Paradise” (one hour)

9:00 – “Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise”

We wish we could offer more of an explanation regarding the wonky “Paradise” scheduling here, but ABC did this last year, and with the Olympics plus limited weeks in the season they may just be hitting hard with programming when they can.

One other notable thing here is that “Uncle Buck” is the only new scripted show hitting the schedule this summer on the network; not only that, but “Mistresses” is the only returning drama series. Clearly, the network is really banking on game shows and unscripted fare after many flameouts.
