ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8, episode 19 preview: The next Nathan Fillion – Stana Katic story in ‘Dead Again’
Writing this particular “Castle” preview article certainly feels strange for so many reasons, starting with the mere fact that that there was such depressing news earlier in the day. Do we change the format of this pieces? We thought about it, but at the same time we want to see this through to the end. It also makes us even more grateful for every Beckett episode when we know that there are only a few of them left now. Granted, it is still possible that this could also be the end of the series, given that ABC has not issued word as of yet regarding the future of the show.
Next week’s episode is entitled “Dead Again,” and the synopsis below offers up some more news on what to expect:
“When a mild mannered safety inspector for the city (guest star Jonathan Silverman) miraculously survives a poisoning, it might be luck; but when he survives another, it’s a mystery Castle and Beckett will have to solve.”
Hopefully, “Castle” is going to deliver next week a story that is going to be everything that we hope for and then some. It sounds entertaining, a tad wacky, and a little bit different than what we’ve seen to date. This is a show that is, by our estimation, at its best when delivering funny, entertaining storylines that show off the actors’ wit and chemistry. A case that revolves around a supposed murder victim somehow refusing to die fits that bill.

Episode 18 was just as bad as GDS,ABC is still trying to sell us on a spin off with Hayley taken Becketts place. They all but said that last night. I think Rick and Kate had a total of 3 minutes of alone time last night. I know at this time what does it matter I give it a D. I found something in a comment section today that rings pretty true. ABC spends a lot of time n women rights. You see in there news and with the ladies on the view, big one being equal pay for woman, it has become a drum beat in this election season. Nothing wrong with that, if you are doing the same job you should get the same pay. If you look at all the things that happened yesterday cost cutting was one of the big ones and the reason ABC did not ask Stana to resign for season 9. But Fillion is working on a new contract, why did they ask him not her. It is not about the name Castle they both have the same last name remember 7/6.Or Is it because ABC thinks they are paying her too much but not him. Or is it because the his new deal he is working on she had to go. One more thing did ABC know from episode 1 of this season she was never going to resign and used the cost cutting as an excuse. Maybe ABC just talks the talk on womens rights but never walks the walk. This would of been a good time for them to set a good example. The fans have been just hung out to dry and ABC could care less. ABC should do the right thing and have them both riding off on the motorcycle to the great unknow like in the Blue butterfly, not Beckett in a pool of blood on the floor. Most fans would except that ending with a good taste in there mouth. Other wise it will become the worst ending ever and Hawley and Winter will always be known for the two show runner that destroyed Castle.

Susan Sullivan gave an interview before SK’s firing. She was asked if one of the leads had to go who should it be. Her answer was Beckett, because she boggs things down, Castle is always happy. Those in the industry knew exactly what she meant metaphorically.

It could’ve become appearant to those who worked together that she may have worn out her welcome.

Leo, true but is it possible that Nathan had a influence with this decision also?

Georgee, you have gotten it right and I see that ABC really doesn’t care. They have completely lost me as a fan of any ABC show so will start watching the other networks.

The problem is that when you know the end of a story and it is unsatisfactory the intervening chapters are not interesting.
