‘Scorpion’ season 2, episode 23 review: Walter and Paige’s swing-and-a-miss; Toby’s capture
Given where we are at the moment on “Scorpion” season 2, it almost goes without saying that this was a time in which everything was going to start to come together. This includes putting the team in some dangerous positions, but also giving them a little bit of hope for the future, as well.
For Walter and Paige, “hope” is a nice way to describe what we saw at the end of the episode, where Happy encouraged him to finally make a move on her after she used her lips (seriously) in order to save his life. He then proceeded to be as awkward as humanly possible as he tried to ask her out on a date, but when she hesitated with her response, he panicked and quickly told her to ask Tim instead. Yes, this is kind-of sad, but we do think there is still a lot to be hopeful about right now when it comes to these two.
As for some other relationship news, Toby bought Happy an engagement ring! However, he was immediately knocked out and captured minutes later … and that’s the cliffhanger for the finale. We’re going to be waiting for a week to see what’s next.
Before these cliffhangers, what we had was a fun, crazy, dramatic, and intense episode. Sure, we do prefer “Scorpion” episodes that are a little more silly when it comes to the premise. We just hope that these cliffhangers pay off, and that we’ve got some more one-liners and great character moments as we near a very long wait. Episode Grade: B+.
