‘Better Call Saul’ season 3: Premiere date expectations, personal hopes for AMC drama

Better Call Saul season 2With tonight marking the end of “Better Call Saul” presumably for 2016, this is the time in which we start to figure out precisely what the future of the show is going to hold.

For the time being, let’s start with answering a rather-simple question: When is the show going to premiere with new episodes? Our guess is at some point during the first couple of months of 2017, mostly because there is no real need to change things up beyond that. This is when the show tends to get big ratings, and it’s also got a nice window in here to air and be done before networks start the May sweeps.

As for what we would personally like to see on the show moving into this season, the #1 thing is probably Jimmy finally become Saul Goodman. This character’s story doesn’t begin when Walter White interacts with him in “Breaking Bad”; there is a greater history there, and there are a lot of interesting layers and wrinkles that could be explored. We do think that it could be time to dive into that a little bit more.

Meanwhile, we feel like the second thing at the top of our own priority list is getting to see a little bit more of Gene in the future, largely because we feel like this is the one time where there is jeopardy on the show, given that we have no idea what happens to this character. We really cannot say that about any other timeline of the story, beyond just that we don’t know what happens to some supporting characters.
