ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8: Jon Huertas, Seamus Dever, and other reactions to Stana Katic – Tamala Jones news
Even still, the reverberations of the Stana Katic – Tamala Jones exit from “Castle” are being felt, and we are now hearing from many of the show’s cast members on this particular subject.
Let’s start with Jones, who has spoken out for the first time in a statement (per TVLine) on Lanie’s exit. Read below:
“I’ve had so much fun playing the wonderful and unfiltered ‘Lanie’ over the past eight seasons. I will greatly miss the cast and crew — it’s been a privilege getting to work with this incredibly hard working group of people. Thank you to ABC for this opportunity and to the fans for their unwavering support. It’s been an incredible journey and I can’t wait for what lies ahead!”
It’s a wonderfully classy way for her to go out, especially when you consider the fact that this exit comes so suddenly, and mere days after the show wrapped filming its eighth season.
In a series of posts on Twitter, Jon Huertas expressed his disappointment over the exits, especially in how he ended up finding about it online rather than being told in advance. He also explained why he hopes people continue to watch if the show gets renewed:
“To say I’m sad about [Stana] & [Tamala] not coming back even if #Castle returns would be a gross understatement. #blownaway #morose … If there’s a S9 of #Castle, I hope that r fans can see it fit 2 support this unknown incarnation of the show. And if I’m a part of the cast, I’ll work hard 2 continue 2 keep the integrity of our show intact… #ConsiderThis #400JOBS … And I am gonna miss @Stana_Katic & @tamalajones who are more than coworkers to me but dear friends. #Heartbroken … Who knows what ABC has in store at this point. @seamusdever & I haven’t been asked back yet either… Uh oh. #NothingIsAsitSeemsAnymore … What else is sad???!!!! That I have to find this out online!!! This is my family! Why couldn’t someone have told me #InADifferentWay ?!”
Meanwhile, here’s what Seamus Dever had to say:
“Oh man. @Stana_Katic has been a good partner and a good friend for the last eight years. Thank you, Stana. And @tamalajones is such a good actor. We haven’t seen 1/10th of what she can do. Can’t wait to see what role she does next.”
Also, here’s Susan Sullivan’s statement:
“Surprised and saddened to hear @Stana_Katic @tamalajones are moving to other artistic pursuits change allows growth!”
We have yet to hear from star Nathan Fillion, but given that he was planning to live-tweet tonight’s new episode, we imagine that we will have a chance to hear something more from him in the future.

Some TV executives are the most clueless gits around. I don’t base this only on this but I know some people in the business and what they’ve gone through at times already had me pretty convinced.
