‘Call the Midwife’ season 5, episode 4 preview (PBS): Trixie’s response; Sister Julienne’s story

Patsy -On Sunday night’s “Call the Midwife,” we had (spoiler alert for those who are still watching the show) a rather heartbreaking story of a teacher whose affair led to her being judged by both Nonnatus House and those working in her profession; we’ve been hurt by some storylines on the show in the past, but this is one of the few times we’ve felt legitimately angry in the aftermath.

Moving into next week’s new episode of PBS, we could have a rather emotional story in its own right, but one that could elicit some different sort of reactions. If you have not seen the full synopsis for this one just yet, take a look at it below via TV Guide:

“Sister Julienne’s faith is tested by a limbless child; and an unexpected pregnancy poses a problem for a young man who now has to choose between pursuing his studies or finding a full-time job to support his fiancée and their child.”

This episode will eventually also give you some sort of response from Trixie when it comes to the relationship between Tom and Barbara, which is something that you saw unfold a little bit on Sunday night’s installment. It is certainly understandable being worried about Trixie given some of what she has been through, and the last thing that you want to do is see her succumb to some of her old demons. However, we’re pretty hopeful that she will find a way to keep it all together and move forward still
