‘Better Call Saul’ season 2, episode 10 (finale) video: Target practice and a familiar face

Better Call Saul season 2We know that much of the conversation among “Better Call Saul” fans leading into the finale revolves around whether or not we will see the return of Giancarlo Esposito as Gus Fring, and to a certain extent, we do get that. Anytime you’ve got an actor with the sort of history on “Breaking Bad” that he does, you want to see more of him.

Also, there’s that whole “Fring’s Back” anagram that definitely did set the internet ablaze over the course of the past week.

The sneak peek, though, features yet another appearance from a different “Breaking Bad” character in Lawson, played by the excellent Jim Beaver of “Supernatural” fame. He’s appeared on both the original and this series before, and here he is helping Mike undergo a little bit of weapons training. As he learned through his conversation with Nacho this past week, he may now be firmly back on Hector’s radar in a way that he was not. He will need to act out before in term something happens to him, and this could be what this scene is ultimately about: Preparing for a hit that could be coming on him.

While we know that Mike survives the finale, there are other ways to get to him on a person or psychological level. The same could be said for Jimmy McGill, given that the most-recent episode of the show featured Chuck in a severe medical crisis after hunting down evidence on Jimmy at the copy shop. If something happens to him, will it change Jimmy as a person forever? It’s certainly possible.
