NBC’s ‘The Voice’ preview: The instant save returns for Paxton Ingram, Laith Al-Saadi, top 12
Monday night, the top 12 contestants on “The Voice” are going to go out on stage and do their best to try to win America over. They’ll perform once more songs that they and their coaches think will sell well on iTunes, and it is almost a combination of vocal ability and strategy that could carry them to the next round.
Today, we’re here to confirm the return of something that many people out there probably assumed they were going to see again on the show: The Instant Save! Moving into the results show on Tuesday, everyone from Laith Al-Saadi to Hannah Huston and Paxton Ingram will have a chance to earn a spot in the next round thanks to social media in the event that they do not advance to the next round outright.
Do we still love the twist? Sure, but we do still think that there is an issue of regional fairness in here. For example, is someone like Alisan Porter from California at a disadvantage if other people in California aren’t watching live on the East Coast? They have to rely on her fans keeping track of things online. (Luckily, she’s someone who may not need the help of social media to stick around.) Luckily, the majority of the contestants this season are from Eastern / Central time zones.
We’ll be back tomorrow night with our rankings of the remaining contestants, which will be a Sunday tradition for the remainder of the season. Be on the lookout!
