‘Big Brother Canada 4’ exit interview: Raul Manriquez on nominating Mitch, isolation, and the Third Wheel
Raul Manriquez definitely set out to be a big character on “Big Brother Canada” this season. However, some strategic roadblocks probably made it much harder for him to be the fun, superfically-harmless character he wanted to be going in. He formed a close alliance super-early in the game, and as a result of that he was almost always considered a target. Then, he also made it tough this week for the house to want to keep him in between an incident with some brownies and him violating Have-Not rules by eating a part of Tim’s sandwich, something that was not shown on TV. While these things were not the main reason he was evicted, they were at least minor contributing factors in having it be for the most part a unanimous vote. (Tim only voted to evict Kelsey for the fun of it.)
We spoke with Raul in an exit interview today, and got his take on a few different things from isolation to if he regrets nominating Mitch as Head of Household.
CarterMatt – Do you think being in isolation in the backyard seriously hurt your chances to campaign?
Raul Manriquez – I do, because I could have started campaigning earlier instead of having to do it the last day. I believe once I was put away into isolation my game went away a little bit more, and my strategy didn’t work as much as I wanted to.
Do you have any regrets about nominating Mitch only to follow him out the next week?
Not really, no. You never know what can happen in the game each week, and you never know who is going to be the next HoH or who is going to win the next PoV. I loved to play the game with risk, and I feel like I accomplished everything that I wanted, and now I’m just on my way to jury. (Laughs.)
Would you have went down to the final three with Jared and Kelsey?
I know we could be final three, but I think it would have gotten tougher because we were going to have to play this game, and play it to get each other out. It would have been really tough to [take] one of them out.
