‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12, episode 19 reaction: Jason George on Ben’s (possible) next move

Ben -We knew going into Thursday night’s two new episodes of “Grey’s Anatomy” that what we were going to see from the Ben Warren character could end up having some pretty dramatic consequences, but what we did not realize was that it would play out in the way in which it did.

Ultimately, Ben’s been handed a six-month suspension that could in many ways be career-ending, which is what Jason George (who was fantastic in these episodes) had to say in a new interview with TVLine after the fact:

“A six-month suspension to a surgical resident is basically saying there’s no way you’re going to finish, and he tells her that. He’s fighting for his career. It’s like saying you’re going to miss two years of high school. If that happens you don’t graduate. You can say it’s a suspension, but what it really means is his career is done. So he’s trying to figure out what his life is without work. He’s never not had a direction or a goal… I think you can expect to see the ‘plastics posse’ circle the wagons and commiserate about how to deal with the women in their lives. [Laughs]”

One thing that George did offer up as reassurance to all fans wondering about his future on the show is this: He is not leaving the show, so there is not anything to worry about when it comes to that. Instead, the only real uncertainty is wondering what is going to befall this character, and what he is going to be up to in the time in which he is away?
