‘Empire’ season 2, episode 13 video: Hakeem looks to settle things with Tiana, Laura

Hakeem may still be relatively new to the CEO business on “Empire,” but this is a guy who thinks that he has everything figured out … with a strong emphasis on the word “thinks.” We’re not really sure just how much he has learned at all.

In the sneak peek below, Becky tries to give him a little bit of advice for the sake of patching things up with Laura and Tiana, but it doesn’t sound like he thinks that it is all that big a deal. As a matter of fact, he feels the same way about dating one of the artists. In his words, “what’s the point of being a mogul” otherwise? Ugh. Hakeem is the sort of person who is just destined for there to be an enormous fall, and you know that when it happens, it’s probably going to be completely and utterly epic.

What this preview really does not do is give you much insight on the aftermath to the pair of shock deaths that we had on the show last week, and to a certain extent that’s a shame given that these could change the Empire structure in a very big way. With Camilla gone, who’s left to meddle and scheme? Someone is course going to take over that title, but for us it really doesn’t feel like Lucious is going to have nearly as hard of a time getting his company back. After all, Hakeem’s the sort of guy who could be so full of himself that he doesn’t see an attack coming directly under his nose.
