NBC’s ‘The Voice’: Nate Butler, Daniel Passino Pharrell, Adam Levine’s Coach Comeback artists
In addition to there being another performance show on “The Voice” Monday night, we of course had the extension of the Coach Comeback twist! The four coaches each have determined someone who was previously eliminated in order to come back. As for why we’re getting this, we’re not entirely sure, mostly because of the fact that it didn’t really make a huge difference last season.
Who knows? Maybe that’ll change this time around, since we really do like both of the people who have been selected for this role in Daniel Passino (Team Pharrell) and Nate Butler (Team Adam). Both did fairly well in the middle stage of the competition, but really just came up against some significant competition. Who knows? Maybe one of these guys will be able to bring it and get the votes to make it to the top 12. It’d certainly make for a great comeback story.
If there was something that we would recommend for the future of the show, though, it is this: Consider opening this up to the public, and allow some of them to figure out more of what the future should be for some of the artists. It raises the stakes, gets the people more involved, and it will feel even more like this show is about America than the coaches. Daniel and Nate would’ve still had a great chance, and it resolves one of our big criticisms of this show catering almost entirely to the coaches all of the time, often even more so than the people actually competing for the title.
