‘Chicago PD’ season 3 spoilers: Is Voight’s son about to return?

Sometimes, we really do feel like the folks over at “Chicago PD” have some sort of secret penchant for mind-reading. We’ve been saying for a little while now that it would be great to see Voight’s son return to the show for some sort of update, and based on some early details for the series’ May 4 return to NBC entitled “In a Duffel Bag,” we could end up seeing just that … though nothing is confirmed just yet. All we know is that he’s at least going to be in the Windy City and Voight finds out about it.

The official synopsis below offers up some further news on what you can expect, including a few more details on a particularly horrifying case:

“Responding to a call about a suspicious duffle bag at the Chicago Lakefront, Voight (Jason Beghe) is horrified to discover that the bag contains the frigid and unmoving body of a newborn baby. Determined to find the culprit who abandoned the infant, Intelligence receives a promising lead based on information provided by Chicago Med and Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) helps zero in on a potential suspect. Meanwhile, Voight is surprised to hear that his son is in town and Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Roman (Brian Geraghty) grow closer.”

This episode should officially kick off the home stretch of the season, and with that we imagine that it will also make an effort to resolve what could be some of its biggest mysteries, including trying to figure out the status of Burgess and Roman long-term and also figuring out how the “Chicago Justice” spin-off will be planted.
