‘Better Call Saul’ season 2, episode 10 (finale) spoilers: Will Chuck survive ‘Klick’?

Better Call Saul season 2Tonight, “Better Call Saul” set some wheels in motion for the finale. For example, Jimmy did what he could to hit back at Chuck over taking Mesa Verde, and he went far lower below the belt than Chuck even did. Also, Mike had a tense confrontation with Nacho as he plotted his revenge against Hector, and made it clear that, at least for now, he is “done” dealing with the crime lord. Whether or not the feeling is mutual remains to be seen.

Next week, the finale in “Klick” airs, and the short TV Guide synopsis gives us a few more details regarding what is coming up:

“In the second-season finale, Jimmy is forced to make a hard choice; and Mike takes matters into his own hands. Elsewhere, Hamlin relays shocking news while Chuck’s condition continues to evolve.”

What is a little bit interesting about the aftermath of tonight’s episode is that we really did not get any update at all regarding Chuck’s condition — or anything else — in the preview. Obviously, AMC feels like they’ve established enough of a cliffhanger now that they feel they don’t need one. If we are gearing up for a Chuck death, it does make some sense why Jimmy becomes the way that he does. He’s not able to process any potential grief, so with that he just turns off whatever humanity he has left and goes full Saul. It makes some sense, but at the same time we’re not sure we’re getting that full transformation just yet. It’d also potentially explain why Kim could be gone from the “Breaking Bad” timeline if she wants to escape this mess.
