‘Talking Dead’ spoilers: Cliff Curtis, showrunner Dave Erickson, Hozier talk ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ premiere

talkingThe premiere of “Fear the Walking Dead” season 2 is coming to AMC on Sunday night, and one thing is already clear about the network’s strategy: They really want to beef this up as more of an event, just like they do with the flagship show.

It is with this in mind that we’re curious about the “Talking Dead” ratings for tonight, largely because this is not a show that generated close to “Walking Dead” ratings by the time the first season came to a close. Meanwhile, we’re also curious what the quality of celebrity guest is going to be, given that there may not be as large a pool of superfans out there. Luckily, we do have an appearance from “Take Me to Church” singer Hozier on tonight’s episode, so we do have someone reasonably familiar alongside host Chris Hardwick, star Cliff Curtis, and also executive producer Dave Erickson.

One other thing we are curious about is this: Will the show bring in the same guests on the cast side for several episodes this season? “The Walking Dead” has so many people at this point that they can rotate different guests out pretty much all season, but that’s not something that “Fear the Walking Dead” may be able to do just yet with a fairly limited cast by comparison. We’re sure that Kim Dickens (Madison) and Alycia Debnam-Carey (Alicia) are going to both be guests on the show at some point in the near future, as well, especially given the latter’s rising popularity thanks to playing Lexa on “The 100.”
