‘Blue Bloods’ season 6, episode 20 preview: Could Thomas Wilder kill Nicky?
Back when it was first released that the next new episode of “Blue Bloods” (entitled “Down the Rabbit Hole”) was going to feature the return of serial killer Thomas Wilder, there was inevitably a single question that crept into our brain: Was this setting up a story to last the remainder of the season?
As it turns out, the answer to that may be “no.” The promo that aired after “Blast from the Past” on Friday night (sadly there is no shareable version online) hinted that this could be the “final showdown” between Danny Reagan and his notorious adversary coming up. However, it may be the most dangerous one yet, as Wilder gets hold of Nicky and decides to make the fight with Danny personal. It was already bad enough before, when the man was making phone calls and talking a la the Joker with his professions of how the two were constantly going to be in some sort of battle. Now, it’s a cavalcade of tears.
We don’t think the synopsis below tells you much that we have not already said, but we will go ahead and share it anyway:
“When serial killer Thomas Wilder (Louis Cancelmi) attaches a message to his latest victim that taunts Danny, their deadly game of cat and mouse becomes personal for Danny.”
If this does wrap up the Wilder storyline, you do have to wonder what the show has planned for their final episodes of the season. This is the zenith of the season so far when it comes to drama, and we have a hard time imagining any producer wanting to end the season with a whimper after this is done.
