‘The Amazing Race 28’ episode 7 preview: An unusual challenge in Georgia

We’ll be first to admit that we actually enjoyed last week’s episode of “The Amazing Race” set in Armenia, and there may have been a big part of it that was because we were just happy to be in a different place than we’re used to. We even enjoyed the Detour, though the whole oil-change Roadblock was completely absurd and had absolutely nothing to do with the country or the culture.

Now, we’re moving into another episode Friday set in a new location for the show in Georgia, which on paper is fun given that there are so many people out there who only think of it in terms of being a state. It’s almost a nice educational moment for all of us! Granted, we’re not exactly sure that all of the Georgian people make wine as it is featured in the sneak peek below, which has Cole of Team Sheri & Cole digging stuff out of a pit.

At the end of this past episode, these two were put into last place as a result of Sheri’s struggles at the Roadblock, and we’re a little bit concerned about how nobody else seems to be around this particular task while they are doing it. Then again, maybe this is a Detour and everyone else chose the other option, or maybe they somehow managed to get ahead. We didn’t get a sense that they have to perform a speed bump or anything of this like in this episode, so they’re not at too huge of a disadvantage other than that they have to make up the time they’ve already lost … and given that Armenia and Georgia are geographically close to each other, there may not be much of an equalizer coming.
