‘American Idol 15’ results: Was Dalton Rapattoni, La’Porsha Renae, or Trent Harmon eliminated?

There are few spots worse to be eliminated on “American Idol” than the final three, especially when you consider that this is the final season. You’re so close to getting that one last chance to perform on the stage, and you’re not getting to be at least the partial center of attention for what could end up being one of the most-watched finales to have aired on the show in years. After all, this is going to be an event like no other, a real celebration of everything great that the show has done.

Going into tonight, our sentiment was that this would be the end of Dalton Rapattoni for many reasons, with one of the biggest ones being that he has been in danger before. Meanwhile, neither La’Porsha Renae or Trent Harmon really have.

Was this really the right move getting rid of Dalton? We’d say that when it comes to creating the most competitive finale situation possible, this was the right decision for the American public to make. It’s felt for a rather long time that Trent and La’Porsha would be the final two, and this sets up a showdown like no other where we really don’t know who is going to win. They’re two different artists with very different styles.

For Dalton, the best thing he can really do in our eyes is go find himself a really great band to front, one that could create some spectacular music for quite a long time to come.
