‘Faking It’ season 3, episode 5 preview: What’s next for Karma after big father reveal?

Tonight on “Faking It,” we saw Amy and Karma prove to each other, really without hesitation, that they still know how to be best friends when they need to. Sure, they go through arguments and question their feeling, but when the going gets tough, they find each other. We saw that in the closing seconds tonight when Karma’s father suffered a heart attack and was admitted to the hospital.

This moment sent a jolt down our spine, mostly because it is not often that any comedy show out there, at least one with the level of off-the-wall humor as this one, plays around with death. Yet, we want to take from the tone of the preview at the end of tonight’s new episode that Karma’s father is going to turn out to be okay (hopefully).

The synopsis below, via TV Guide, offers up some more news on what to expect:

“A revelation in Karma’s home life derails Amy and Lauren’s plan to reunite their parents; and Liam and Shane have dinner with Liam’s rabbi.”

We do hope that the aftermath of the Karma storyline has some sort of relieving ending to it, and maybe she learns to take things more in perspective. Meanwhile, Amy and Lauren recreating “The Parent Trap” will most likely be fun, but we’re not sure how much it fundamentally changes the show one way or another unless it actually works (which is possible — over time, anyway). The same goes for Liam’s rabbi, since this is the further continuation of him trying to explore more and more of his heritage.
