‘American Idol’ series finale: William Hung, Brian Dunkleman returning for series finale

American Idol -The series finale of “American Idol” is going to be coming your way on Thursday night, and we now that two other very notable names when it comes to the show’s history are going to be coming aboard in some way.

According to a new report from TMZ, William Hung and Brian Dunkleman are both going to be making at least some sort of small appearance on the finale this week, and will be doing to in a way that makes light of their history.

Longtime fans of “Idol” will remember Dunkleman as the original co-host alongside Ryan Seacrest. He left after the first season in order to pursue some acting / comedy gigs, and has since gone on to (obviously) say that this was the biggest mistake of his entire career. At least he does seem to have a very good sense of humor about it.

As for Hung, he remains notorious for being one of the best “worst” auditions of all time. His performance of “She Bangs” was featured all over TV and the internet after it happened, and he went on for years to get some other performing gigs and even had a record deal for a short period of time. Probably no bad audition over the course of the series’ entire run had the sort of longstanding impact on television history that he did.

Even if they don’t have huge roles, we’re still thrilled that both of these guys are coming back. In one way or another, they are integral to the show’s history.
