‘NCIS’ season 13, episode 20 video: Tony impersonators arrive on the scene
There is a new problem for Tony DiNozzo arriving on Tuesday night’s “NCIS,” and it is something that many people are probably familiar with in some shape or form: Identity theft. However, in this particular world, we are going to see once again things be taken to another level entirely.
In the sneak peek below from Tuesday’s episode “Charade,” you can see Michael Weatherly’s character fretting big-time while Bishop and McGee try to encourage him to name a new aircraft carrier with them for a contest. He doesn’t seem okay with playing around, and he eventually explains that much of the reason for that is because he does not want to be in a situation where he gets distracted. He’s trying to figure out where there are thousands of dollars that “he” may have stolen in cash. The reality here is that, clearly, this is the work of an impersonator.
Things take an even more serious turn when Gibbs arrives, and seems relieved to see Gibbs after he learned that someone named Anthony DiNozzo supposedly died in an accident in Virginia. Once again, another DiNozzo; the look on Gibbs’ eyes as he walks into the scene is really something that we have not seen from him on the show before, and it’s fairly jarring.
We’re going to be back later with more on this episode; we don’t know just yet if it sets up Tony’s departure from the team, but we’re sure that this sort of thing is something that could certainly unnerve the character.
