‘Legends of Tomorrow’ spoilers: First look at ‘Last Refuge,’ Rip Hunter’s backstory

Cast -For those of you who are looking forward to exploring the lives of even more characters on “Legends of Tomorrow” this season, know this: There’s going to be a fairly tremendous opportunity soon to learn a thing or two more about Rip Hunter.

Specifically, we are talking about the upcoming April 21 installment entitled “Last Refuge.” Want to see some news in terms of what to expect from the hour? Then check out the attached synopsis:

“The team is targeted by The Pilgrim (guest starFaye Kingslee), a deadly assassin who wants to erase the Legends from the timeline by killing their younger, non-superhero selves. As a protective countermeasure, Rip (Arthur Darvill) decides Sara (Caity Lotz), Snart (Wentworth Miller), Rory (Dominic Purcell), Professor Stein (Victor Garber) and Jax (Franz Drameh) need to kidnap their past selves first before The Pilgrim gets to them. Coming face-to-face with the younger versions of themselves proves to be both a physical and emotional challenge for certain members of the team who would rather forget their past. Rip tells them he has a refuge for their precious cargo – an orphanage that raises future Time Masters and where he himself grew up.”

As we start to get closer to the finale, it makes sense that things would in turn start to get more emotional and we’d become a little bit more attached to these characters. After all, this dose potentially raise the stakes for all of them. If one of them dies, you’ll miss them more; on the flip side, you’ll also root for them to emerge victorious even more wholeheartedly than you did before.
