‘Outlander’ season 1 available for free as Starz builds up season 2 buzz

Outlander -

For those of you out there who have been on the fence regarding whether or not you should get into “Outlander,” Starz is giving you the opportunity now to binge the entire first season for free — and this is no April Fools’ joke.

Starting today and leading up to the show’s second-season launch on April 9, you can watch the entire 16-episode first season for free across many of the network’s platforms. This includes on Starz.com, on demand for select cable packages, on the Starz app, and a variety of other different venues. If you haven’t had a chance to see this show, you really should – it’s easily one of the best shows on TV right now.

The logic behind this move seems to be clear: The network knows that they have an enormous hit here, and in the wake of it getting a Golden Globe nomination for Outstanding Drama Series, they want to get as many people on board as possible. While the episodes are pretty long, you could watch two a day and be ready in time for the season 2 premiere. Just be sure you don’t do it at work or a place where there are sensitive eyes around — there’s definitely some NSFW content in there.

Since we’re writing this article in hopes to get more people addicted to the show, we’re not going to spoil anything in here in regards to the season 1 story. With that being said, we’ll at least give you a further sense of what sort of things you can expect during the binge: Drama, romance, violence, politics, a touch of the supernatural, plenty of tears, and a few minutes where you’ll be cheering for the heroes. There’s also a nice element of history here that people outside of the United Kingdom may not be aware of.
