‘The X Factor’ UK: Louis Walsh, Simon Cowell meeting to discuss new deal
Apparently for the upcoming season of “The X Factor,” old is apparently new again. It was only a year ago that the show decided to move away from Louis Walsh on the panel due to the belief that the show wanted to change things up, but now it’s looking more and more like the British manager could be coming back in some way.
Per the Mirror, Louis is in the process of talking with Simon Cowell about a return to the series, and in turn this could lead to an announcement in the future:
“Simon met Dermot O’Leary in Los Angeles last week and a few days later he was announced as the show host. It is no coincidence that Louis is in LA spending time with Simon too … If the meeting goes well and there are no last minute hitches then Louis will almost certainly be a judge again. It’s just a case of juggling the judging panel.”
If all of this happens, it is certainly presumable that the next season of the show could have a panel consisting of Walsh, Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini, Rita Ora, and Cowell. It has not been confirmed as of yet that the two ladies are returning, but neither have announced any intention to depart. Given that Cheryl was an executive producer on the show last season, she has an extra incentive to return. Meanwhile, Ora has claimed in the past that she has been courted in some way by both this show and “The Voice” UK, which is moving over to ITV next year after spending the first five seasons on the BBC.
