‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ season 6, episode 19 review: Kathryn Edwards’ birthday
If we hear the word “Munchausen” one more time this season on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” we may toss out TV set out the window. This is a storyline that has been beaten to death for 18 episodes and it’s time to move on. We are starting to worry a bit about this show since the other Real Housewives series seem to have a few episodes of one fight and then move on to something else, where as this particular show has a habit of rehashing the same fight every single episode. Is it time for a new cast?
After watching Tuesday night’s new episode, we’re starting to think so since without Dubai and Kathryn Edwards’ birthday, there really wouldn’t be much to talk about here. Of course the aforementioned story-that-won’t-die resurfaced yet again on the show Tuesday night, and we’re currently picking up the bits and pieces of the TV from the sidewalk. Such a mess.
Anyway, Kathryn’s birthday may be the most interesting thing to happen to Kathryn since we got to see her try to relive “The People v. OJ Simpson” a little bit earlier this season, but she spent most of it in an argument with Eileen Davidson that reminded us very much of the episode of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” where the shusher was center stage in everything. Eileen shushed Kathryn, she didn’t like it, and then we just went from there. There irony here is that this spawned from a separate argument about whether or not they should be getting involved in Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards’ argument, so it was an argument about someone else’s argument.
Kyle accused Lisa of being manipulative, so this was more or less the same thing we’ve heard time and time again! Don’t even get us started on Lisa Rinna man the whole “Manchausen” stuff again just for the sake of our sanity. That’s still there, folks!
The best part of the episode was exploring Dubai, seeing the Burj Khalifa (which you can really just do on YouTube), and seeing all of the golf carts. It’s ironic how golf carts are such a mainstay of entertainment on this franchise. Everything else, we can just take it or leave it. Grade: C.
