‘Criminal Minds’ season 11, episode 19 video: AJ Cook, cast on Paget Brewster’s return

“Criminal Minds” at the moment is clearly just going from one milestone to the next. Last week on the show, we had to say a rather-sad goodbye to Shemar Moore after many years aboard the series as the incredible Derek Morgan. Now, on Wednesday night’s new episode of the show we are getting to say hello once more to Paget Brewster as Emily Prentiss! She is making her first appearance on the show this season, but given her lengthy history playing this part, you have to imagine that some big things are going to coincident with her being a part of this world below.

In the video below, you can see Brewster talk a little bit about coming back to the show now, and how in many ways the experience is like “riding a bike.” She also gives you a little bit of insight into what you can expect from the story of this episode, and is joined throughout by fellow cast members Joe Mantegna, AJ Cook, and others.

It is no coincidence that this is when producers decided to bring Cook into the series. We’ve talked a little bit about this before now, but it is a smart and deliberate move to have her come in at a time when it is well-known that the show could use some sort of a boost. Moore is gone, and what better way to convince people to keep watching than bringing in another fan favorite?

Ultimately, we’ll get a chance to see just what happens with this story when it airs, and we’ll have a full review up not too long afterwards.
