‘Dancing with the Stars’ pro Mark Ballas hoping to return this season after injury

Paige -

On Monday night’s “Dancing with the Stars” episode, we saw Mark Ballas in a situation that he is not altogether familiar with: On the sidelines.

Does a new injury mean that he could be out of the running the entire season? Well, at the moment it’s a little bit unclear. Speaking on the ABC show Monday night, Ballas said that he is hoping that he will be able to get back out there at some point this season, but for the time being it’s a little early to know for sure one way or another.

For the time being, his partner in Paige VanSant does have someone else who will dance at her side in Alan Bersten who is more than capable. He’s a former contestant from “So You Think You Can Dance” with a ton of skill, and Ballas is a skilled choreographer even when he is not dancing. Given Paige’s athletic ability and also her family history when it comes to dance, it’s pretty darn easy to figure out that when the dust settles, she is going to be more than fine.

At the moment, the biggest thing working in Mark’s favor is probably that we imagine he is going to be a part of the show for a long time this season, mostly because we think Paige will last for a long time this season. On Monday’s episode, she tied singer Wanya Morris for top score of the night with a 24. We’ll see what happens.
