‘Dancing with the Stars 22’ results: Was Doug Flutie, Mischa Barton, or Geraldo Rivera eliminated?

DWTS -

The first “Dancing with the Stars” results show aired on ABC Monday night, and with that of course, we also had our first results of the season. This is something that’s always a bummer week one, since you never want to be the first person eliminated.

The couples who were announced in jeopardy on the night were Mischa Barton, Geraldo Rivera, and Doug Flutie. This was no surprise when you consider the fact that the scores for these three were all lower than most of the competition. Well, at the end of the night the music played, and we learned from host Tom Bergeron that the first Star sent packing was … Geraldo.

How are you feeling? Personally, we’re fine with it. No huge offense here to the newscaster, but he was a pretty horrible dancer over the course of the entire season. He didn’t bring a whole lot to the table when it comes to technique, and we weren’t quite sure he was going to be able to bring in the audience necessary to get votes.

We are still somewhat bummed for Edyta Sliwinska, given that it had been so long since she was on the show. We hope that she does manage to come back to the show at some point in the future, and with a partner that she has a better shot of going far with. Geraldo was the oldest person this season, and he also had a pre-show injury that kept him from dancing to his full potential.
