‘Gotham’ season 2, episode 17 preview: ‘Into the Woods’ and more Penguin drama
If there’s one thing that we’ve learned to date about “Gotham” and the Oswald Cobblepot character, it is this: He’s a guy who has faced adversity, even if a good percentage of it is his own doing. We already saw that he is in many ways responsible for his mother’s death, and at this point we imagine that he is more than a little bit aware that the Van Dahl family were not what he thought that they were.
So where do we go from here? The next new episode of the show is entitled “Into the Woods,” and you could certainly see him discover a little bit more of his former self. Take a look at the attached synopsis below:
“In an attempt to clear his name, Gordon steals his case file and approaches Nygma for help. Meanwhile, Penguin discovers his step-family’s role in his father’s death, and awakens from his conditioning.”
Here’s the bad news when it comes to the Jim Gordon story: What sort of incentive does Nygma really have in helping him? What we find so interesting about this story is that there is something more to Nygma than Gordon truly knows, and while Jim is fiercely intelligent and diligent in his job, it’s nice to see him still have something more to figure out.
We’re going to have some more news on this episode in the coming days, and the bad news that we have to report is that you’ll be waiting for a while to hear about it. “Into the Woods” is not set to air until April 11.
