‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5, episode 16 preview: Zelena, Dorothy, and more in ‘Our Decay’

“Once Upon a Time” has spent most of the second part of this season giving us some isolated tales on various characters. Take, for example, Rumpelstiltskin and his history with Milah, or on tonight’s episode Captain Hook and his brother Liam.

Next week, we may actually get to see some more living characters enter the fray, as Zelena is going to surface for the first time this season … and she is not going to be alone. The synopsis for next week’s new installment “Our Decay” gives you a few more details as to what to expect, and also gives us further evidence that Hades and the Wicked Witch may know each other already:

“Emma, Snow, David, Regina, Robin, Henry and Hook continue to search for a way to free everyone from the Underworld. At the mercy of Hades, Gold creates a portal to Storybrooke, which transports Belle, Zelena and Baby Hood to the Underworld. While Zelena and Regina get into a sibling squabble, Belle is reunited with Rumple only to learn some tremendously shocking news that will change her life forever. Meanwhile, Snow and David hopelessly attempt to send a message from the Underworld to their son, Neal. In flashbacks, Hades learns about Zelena’s very special spell and pays her a visit in Oz with the intention of striking an alliance, but finds himself with more than just a partner in crime.”

Given that Rebecca Mader is a regular on the show, we’re thrilled to see her back! Now, the primary mystery here will be how she factors into this already-complicated world and plays a significant role.
