‘Gotham’ season 2, episode 16 preview: Can Oswald fit in with new family?

The second season of “Gotham” has put many of its characters through a variety of different situations, and for Oswald Cobblepot, one of the most mysterious ones to date is going to come with his assimilation into the Van Dahl family.

At the end of this past episode, Elijah met up with him for the first time at his mother’s grave, and it was there that he first unveiled the truth about who he really was. From here, he was quick to invite him into his world and the rest of his family; based on the promo below, though, something is going to be clearly amiss. It won’t take much time for Elijah’s other children to realize that Oswald is really the crime boss known as the Penguin, and they will have some differing results to the news. Some will be horrified, but at least one person could actually look at this as an opportunity.

Given that “Gotham” is eventually approaching the endgame of Oswald being a crime boss once more, it is fair to say that something along the way with this story is going to lead to him having a less-than-desirable outcome to his “family time.” The question is how everything falls apart, and also how quickly.

While this should be a very important, integral story to Monday night’s new episode, it is not the only series of events you should expect to see taking shape. Also in this installment, you can see Jim Gordon do what he can to be freed from Blackgate prison, where he was hauled at the end of this past episode.
