‘The Voice UK’: Why Beth Morris left the show revealed
One of the most shocking announcements on Saturday’s edition of “The Voice UK” came before the show even started to get into full gear, as it was revealed that one of the contestants in Beth Morris had departed the show for what was labeled at the time as “personal reasons.” It’s not really in the business of the show to start to reveal details of contestants’ personal lives, and with that they often opt to be classy.
However, we knew that the British press would eventually catch wind of something, which is why Morris chose more than likely to get out in front of the issue and be public on a history of addiction, and a relapse that may have caused her to withdraw from the competition. In a statement (you can read all of it over at The Sun), she revealed the history of her drug use:
“Two years ago I realised that I had a problem with drugs. I was using them to cope with various issues I was going through at the time. I thought they would help me, but they were making the situation worse.
“I made the decision myself to seek treatment and checked into the Priory Clinic. It gave me strength and helped me face the world. It changed me for the better. But addiction is tough, and I am sorry to say that I have relapsed on a few occasions since I left.”
Morris apologized further to the fans who were cheering her on, and vowed to get better moving forward in life in hopes of further pursuing her dream to be a singer.
