‘Shameless’ season 6 spoilers: Will Mickey or Sheila return?

One of the luxuries about a show like “Shameless” is that almost from start to finish, you’re working with a fantastic group of characters. There are some that come and go (Jimmy / Steve, sadly), but there there are others like Frank and Fiona who we’re lucky to have more or less from start to finish.

So what about Mickey or Sheila? Is there a good chance of them turning up in the final two episodes? Based on what executive producer Krista Vernoff said to TVLine, it is probably fair for you to not get your hopes up:

“I think there’s a better shot of seeing Mickey or Sheila next season than there is this season … We’ve been talking about both of those characters in our writers’ room — we always talk about those characters, we hold them in our hearts — so hold out hope!”

“Shameless” was renewed for a seventh season weeks ago, and we like to think that the series has been granted enough time in order to start to properly plot out and think about everything it wants to do in the future … or at least so we hope. There’s no telling just yet as to when this show is going to end, but we’d like to see almost everyone who is important to it at some point before the final curtain drops. We also want to see in the process just how many people ended up growing over the course of the story … at least if any of them did.
