‘Supernatural’ season 11 spoilers: Steven Williams game for more Rufus
If you enjoyed this past episode of “Supernatural” featuring the return of Jim Beaver (Bobby) and Steven Williams (Rufus) via some flashback sequences, rest assured that they also seemed to have a very good time. Not only that, but there is a want to have another story in the future.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Williams makes it clear that he’d love to go back to explore a little bit more of Rufus and Bobby’s history, especially courtesy of a line that has already be referenced in the past:
“If you saw the episode where [Bobby] stabbed me, there was a line about me being very angry at him about something that happened in Omaha … I want that story told. I would love to know what went down between Rufus and Bobby that has them on the edge. And then I’d like to see us both brought back to life! As I understand it, you have to be salted and burned on this show in order to really be gone [and] we haven’t been salted and burned.”
We appreciate the latter part of Williams’ statement since it makes it clear just how excited he is about the show still, but we’d admittedly be shocked if the producers decide to bring these characters back from the show. These two characters have some of the more memorable death scenes in the history of the show, and if you bring them back now, it takes away from some of the poignancy of those original scenes.

I’d love to see Bobby and Rufus in an SPN spin-off as ghostly hunters. The real reason that they will not be brought back is because they are too old for the CW’s target audience, not that their death scenes were so poignant. When has death ever stopped SPN from bringing a character back from the dead if they really wanted to? Never. The CW wants characters they can exploit for at least 5 to 10 years more, like Grant Gustin (The Flash).
