‘Longmire’ season 5: See Katee Sackhoff, Robert Taylor back together again on set!

It took a long time for us to finally get here, but the fifth season of “Longmire” is finally in production! The cast is back in New Mexico filming new episodes, and it certainly is nice to get a little bit of photographic evidence that the gang is back together!

In a post on her Twitter account (see it here), you can see Vic (Katee Sackhoff) and Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) back together … though it’s not altogether clear precisely what it is that they are working on. Is this hope for Walt and Vic ‘shippers? It’s probably a little early to say that at the moment, but it’s nice to see them together (even if this is an out-of-context tweet that may not have anything to do with whether or not they are filming together) given that the characters had so many tense moments over the course of the final episodes of season 4.

In general, we’d love to see a deeper story for Vic this season, even if it doesn’t have a whole lot to do with Walt. For much of season 4 we felt like she was a little bit adrift in between bringing the Sheriff some beer in the premiere to getting evicted to eventually confronting him, as mentioned, on their changing relationship. Given all of the change that had happened in her life, maybe her storyline was meant to be representative of that flux. It’s hard to crawl into the minds of the writers and know for certain.

One way or another, we imagine that there’ll be a heck of a lot of good story to unfold when “Longmire” season 5 premieres on Netflix later this fall.
