‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: Could Sharon Osbourne be inching closer to a return?

At some point later in the spring, we will find out for certain precisely who are the judges on the next season of “The X Factor” UK; until that time, we imagine that there are probably going to be a billion or so more rumors about it, including the following.

It was only days ago that Louis Walsh said that he’d only be interested in returning if the show brought back his dream panel, which just so happened to include Sharon Osbourne. Now, there are some claims that she at least is on better terms with Simon Cowell after appearing in a sketching skewering him on “Ant and Dec’s Saturday-Night Takeaway.”

Speaking to the Radio Times, a source had the following to say:

“Simon and Sharon have always had a bit of a love/hate relationship. Her doing that [sketch] maybe suggests they’re building bridges.”

It is fun to certainly speculate about a potential return of Sharon to the franchise, given that we do personally find her hysterically funny and would watch her judge almost anything; yet, the worlds “maybe suggests” hardly make us altogether hopeful that this is an appearance that is actually going to happen in the near future. It’s far more likely that this is just something that is going to blow on by, and we won’t think much of it when the panel is actually announced.

At the moment, we feel like the most likely scenario is for Louis Tomlinson to join Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini, and Rita Ora on the panel. Maybe Rita goes and then Sharon / someone else has a chance, but she’s the reigning champ and we have a feeling the show would like to keep her.
