‘The Good Wife’ season 7 spoilers: Chris Noth teases big Alicia – Peter sequence

We are starting to near the end of “The Good Wife” as a series, and we feel like with that, there is at least a certain awareness of completeness. Things do have to start to wrap up to a certain extent, and we’re going to see just how the overall landscape starts to change … including Alicia and Peter’s marriage. The two have one of the more bizarre understandings that you could possibly see on a TV show, given that the two of them are each acutely aware of how each other feels. They are mutually beneficially professionally, but where is the love. We do think there’s a certain amount of care, but it’s not in the way you would think it should be between husband and wife.

So what happens when on this upcoming episode Peter realizes that Alicia has a new man in her life in Jason Crouse? As Chris Noth describes it to The Hollywood Reporter, it causes him to look back at the pair’s past and present:

“It brings up very primal feelings, let’s just put it that way … It appears that they come to the end of the line with their relationship in that fight. You feel like there’s nowhere else for them to go but I think they’ve been there before. They always teeter on the edge.”

If there was ever a time that things were going to start to shift and evolve in a big way between these two characters, you do have to think on many levels that this would be it. After all, just remember here for a minute that Peter could be heading to prison, while Alicia at the same time has a job now where she doesn’t need him to help attract clients.
