‘Shark Tank’ revisited: Hungry Harvest, ezpz, Controlled Chaos, Spretz, and LuminAID
With “Shark Tank” being in repeats today, we are here to revisit what may be one of the strongest episodes of the season, and also one that just so happened to be the first installment of 2016. There were several products in here that we thought had a chance of being a success, and one that could even be among our favorites of the entire season so far. (We say this especially given that we’re eating tons of fruits and veggies right now.)
Below, you can consider these mini-updates on some of the products / companies featured on the show.
LuminAID – They got a deal with Mark Cuban, and their update certainly had shown some steps forward. We still love a lot of what the company is doing, in between selling useful lights to people who are campers or simply need a little bit more of a glow wherever they are. Also, we love their socially-conscious mission to help people in areas where electricity may not be easily accessible.
Sprëtz – It’s hard to discern huge progress in terms of the company’s web presence since the show, but it’s only been a few months and there will be time to make that happen. We do still think that there is a market for the spray, which can improve your breath and make your hands feel clean, but this is going to be a long battle in terms of education.
Hungry Harvest – We love this company, especially since they’re basically taking many produce items that would have been tossed, simply for not being the most attractive in the world, and selling them for a profit. It’s a Plated-esque product line that makes you feel good about joining. Since the show they’ve added some more add-ons to make this even more customized than before. They still have work to do in expansion, but this is a start.
Controlled Chaos – Lori Greiner scored a deal with the hair-care product in the Tank, and they’ve really done a good job promoting who they are via their website sense, and also giving so much more information about why this is so effective for women with curly hair. We’re no hair expert, and nor do we have the best memory, but we don’t remember the product education being so on-point before the first episode aired.
ezpz – This is a case where it is hard to discern huge change because they were well put-together before the Tank. Ultimately, this brand of mats to improve the feeding experience for infants balked on talking a deal, and while we sometimes don’t like that, in this case we’re really not sure they needed one. Just look at how their website is so strong, their products are clearly marked, and they are on-the-ball enough to promote the repeat airing.
