‘Sherlock’ season 4: Talking the Tom Hiddleston rumors
Today, we are come to report something that we really wish were actually true at this moment: Tom Hiddleston appearing in “Sherlock” season 4. While we would love for it to be the case, at the moment there is no real concrete validity to the chatter.
Much of the gossip surrounding the idea of Hiddleston, currently appearing on BBC’s “The Night Manager,” coming aboard probably just stemmed from the fans themselves, who would probably have their heads understandably explode to see him working with Benedict Cumberbatch on scenes. This is basically a dream come true for all of those out there who adore fantastic British actors. Also, the talk may have stemmed further from comments supposedly attributed to co-creator Mark Gatiss about wanting to get Hiddleston aboard.
Ultimately, there are still many hurdles that the show would need to overcome. Hiddleston has a very busy schedule including the upcoming “Kong: Skull Island” movie, and to go along with that there is chatter about another season of “The Night Manager” taking place. The show was extremely well-received by the majority of the British public, and even with a shorter season these things still take some time to film.
As for how Tom would play, right now some of the suspicion has revolved around a possible third Holmes brother in Sherrinford, who Sherlock and Mycroft previously did not know about. All of this speculation is definitely well and good, but we’re going to have to wait for a while to know precisely what Gatiss and Steven Moffat have in store.
