‘Supernatural’ season 11, episode 17 preview: The Jared Padalecki – Jensen Ackles story in ‘Red Meat’

Tonight, “Supernatural” returned to The CW after a brief hiatus with a story that did bring quite a few surprises to the table … and also some welcome flashbacks. Who didn’t want to see Steven Williams and Jim Beaver on the show? It was a chance to really celebrate the past, and we’re now getting set to move further into the future.

What we can tell you for the time being is that the next new installment is entitled “Red Meat,” and based on the synopsis below, werewolves are going to be the main course. It’s a little bit old-school, but it could also be plenty of fun:

“Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) battle a pair of werewolves who have captured two victims. Just as the brothers are about to win, one of the werewolves shoots Sam. Dean gets his brother and the victims out of the house but learns a pack of werewolves are hot on their tail, hoping to kill them all.”

As for if there are any long-term storylines featured in this episode, it is rather tough to know for certain. At the moment, the only thing that we can say with confidence is that we’re probably going to get a chance to see something that is typical “Supernatural”: There’ll be a few nods to some of the larger mysteries, but then also a case-of-the-week that dominates most of the air time.
